More empties! I'm sort of barreling through them right now! having said that I've probably hexed myself and the next lot will be this time next year.
QV Face exfoliating polish
I started off really liking this, and as time went on I became less and less enamored. Probably because I kept finding all these other glorious face scrubs and the QV was looking a little sad by comparison. I'm still a bit bewildered that QV doesn't do a body scrub (hypoallergenic!! in a massive tub!!), and I've been using up this one on my legs. Won't get again, doesn't really hit the spot anymore.
Maybelline Megaplush Volum Express
Probably not completely physically empty, but being ditched for being unwieldy and stupid. The interior canister (the bit with mascara in it) is detaching from the barrel and results in a wrestling match whenever I open it. The formula itself I have no real problems with, but the applicator is made of ultra bendy-springy plastic, and when I apply it I run the risk of the brush flying free of my lashes and scattering fluid everywhere. It's the toothbrush-as-paintbrush principle and it has no place in my makeup bag, Nossir.
Ella Bache Serum Antiase
This is a water-texture serum with a slight menthol freshness and it dries ultra fast. It's not as full on as my EB Intensive Balancing Lotion, but it's for a similar oily/combo skin type. Thing is it dries so fast that I'd do my forehead, work my way down, and by the time I'd done my chin my forehead would be completely dry and I'd be going "crap. I didn't put on enough...?" so I almost certainly over-applied this one. I got the serum free as a salon combo deal, and it's a find. Will go pottering back for more.
Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle
This always feels like a cheat because I get maybe four or five proper uses out of a dry shampoo canister, but regardless, it ran out and here it is. The Klorane is the first dry shampoo I ever used, and still the best. The Nettle variant (for oily hair) came out recently, and I luuurve it. Pleasantly soapy smell, unlike the Batiste's which send me into a fit of retching. Instant repurchase.
Derma E Psorzema Creme (sent for review)
This stuff is the bee's knees, the cat's pyjamas and the tanuki's testicles. It's ultra rich but dries fast, and the moisture stays on your skin even through showers and such. I mourn that it's in such a small tub, but goddammit, I bought more anyhow. Ultra dry ladies should try this. It does have a matching body wash, in a pleasingly giant tube:
Well loved, as you can see. The wash is not an empty, it's about half full, but I daresay by the time it's finished there'll be no labeling left on the tube and thus be of no visual benefit. The wash is lovely, but I do think the creme is the star of the pair. Potentially it'll be too rich once summer comes around, but right now, depth of winter (screw you, Spring, you'll commence when I damn well tell you), with my legs ultra ashy, this is glorious. I suspect even when it gets warmer and I stop using it everywhere I'll still be putting it on my lower legs. Derma E is slowly cropping up in various independent chemists about the place, and online at Vitality Brands. My replacement is already on the way!
Moving on - what have I inadvertently and accidentally bought in this time period?
The Loreal at least is justified - my current hair mask is running out, and having tried I few I can only conclude that the Elvive is the kindest to very chemically damaged hair, so I'm returning to it. The mascara is a backup, since I only have one in rotation right now and I've enjoyed the orange version of the Covergirl mascaras (whats that called?). Essence - I'm just immediately crippled when faced with an Essence stand. One of everything! Iee! I haven't opened the duo or blush yet, but the pink and yellow shadows have been regularly on my work rotation. The Fudge hair chalk is the first time I've dabbled in this hair-chalking bizness so I'm rather excited.
And oh, Models Prefer, you are wonderful. I love these lipglosses, they're quite sheer and I haven't tried a color yet I haven't liked, which never happens. The orange is my favorite, the one you see here is my second.
Oh lord, just while writing this I've spotted three things on my desk that were supposed to be in the haul image, shame on me. Lets just pretend those - don't exist.
